Privacy Policy

The Signal Beacon app collects no personal data. It has no accounts, no ads, no analytics and no tracking, and it sends nothing to any server.

Camera. It reads blinking lights and codes from another phone. Pictures are processed on your phone. While Scan or Talk is open, the app keeps the last 40 seconds of camera video in memory so you can make a shareable clip; it is never written to storage unless you choose Save to Photos, and it is discarded when you leave the screen. The app records no audio.
Location. Only if you add your location to a message. It is sent as part of that message, by light or code, to whoever receives it. It is also used on your phone to show the distance and direction to a sender. It is never uploaded.
Photos. The app can save a clip you made to your Photos. It does not read your photo library.
Messages and settings stay on your phone.
Sharing a clip, link or message happens only when you use the share sheet, and goes where you choose.

Reading a light in the web page uses your camera inside your browser. Pictures never leave your phone.
The page counts visits with cookie-free analytics from Cloudflare.
The Learn game keeps your lesson progress on your device. If you submit a score to a leaderboard, we store your chosen call name (1 to 8 letters or digits), the score, and a scrambled identifier made from a random ID in your browser. We do not store your IP address, and leaderboard entries show only your call name.
To have a leaderboard entry removed, email support@signalbeacon.app with your call name.

The app and site are suitable for all ages and do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
